Once called "Savannah Beach," this scenic barrier island has made a name for itself due to its laid-back personality, seaside beauty, and interesting history. It is home to the Tybee Island Light Station, the first light station on the southern Atlantic coast. The elegant, 154-foot-tall lighthouse is the fourth such navigational aid to stand at this location in more than 270 years.
